Welcome to the Berth Holders Association for Royal Clarence Marina (RC BHA)

The Association is was created in 2023. Its primary purpose is to help people with moorings at Royal Clarence Marina improve our social and communication ties, and navigate our relationship with the marina owners.

In order to join RC BHA, you must be a current berth holder.

To join, you must first register on this website. We will follow up with more details. We held our inaugural General Meeting on September 6th, when the Constitution and our financial footing were agreed. Officers and Committee Members were elected.

The constitution can be found here.

Purpose of Berth Holders Associations

Berth Holders Associations are formed for several reasons.
The RYA suggest that other BHAs declare:

  • Arranging better use of marina facilities
  • Improving marina security
  • Finding solutions to “restrictive” trading issues
  • Obtaining local supplier discounts for Association members
  • Representing members views to local Harbour advisory groups
  • Organising cruising, social events, lectures and demonstrations

We will clarify the full scope of the RC BHA as we progress.

The story so far

As a newly formed organisation (Feb 2023) our structure and processes are evolving.

We have formed a steering group to establish the website, constitution and recruit members. At the General Meeting in September 2023, these were agreed and we became Official at that meeting.

We intend to adopt/leverage best practices recommended by the Royal Yachting Association, and will use their recommended documentation and procedures as the basis for the RC BHA.

We have formed a close alliance with the Birdham Pool Berth Holders Association, having both been coastal marinas belonging to Castle Marinas in the past, with both marinas currently belonging to Aquavista Watersides Ltd..

We intend to influence Aquavista so that everyone benefits.
